Sally Tibbetts died at home on July 6, 2025. She was born February 16, 1949, in Cheyenne to Roy W “Duke” and Mae Louise Tibbetts.

She was raised and educated in Cheyenne, graduating from East High School in 1968. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming and graduated with a teaching degree in 1972. She taught for two years in Rawlins, Wyoming, before starting her tenure at Dildine Elementary School in Cheyenne, where she remained until her retirement. She stayed close to the teachers she taught alongside by planning and attending monthly luncheons. As an avid reader, she bought The Book Rack bookstore which she owned at the time of her death.

Sally is survived by one brother, Charles Tibbetts of Fort Collins, Colorado, and four sisters, Suzanne Pankau of Pocatello, Idaho, Sheila Caillier of University Place, Washington, Sharon Colbert and Georgia Tibbetts of Cheyenne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roy W. III and Robert, and one sister, Saundra Cole.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will be at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
