Sally Ann Tovey of Ste. Genevieve passed away on February 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her home, at the age of 78. She was born on November 12, 1947, in Endicott, New York, to Wallace and Zelpha (Greenough) Fye.
Sally is survived by her children, Dawn Reid of Perryville, MO, David Buza of Plattsmouth, NE, and Kristi Whitis of Perryville, MO; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Wallace (Dawn) Fye of Endicott, NY; two nieces; and her special feline companion, Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Zelpha Fye; her spouses, Carlin Buza and Robert Tovey; her daughter, Carrie Johnson; her sons-in-law, Darin Reid and Robert Stewart; and her best friend, Lori.
Sally formerly worked as the secretary for Main Street Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her wisdom and as the matriarch of her family, with a special way of teaching her children and grandchildren, who learned so much from her. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, watching Stephen King horror movies, bird watching while drinking a frosty cold beer.
Per Sally’s request, no formal services will be held. Share condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
