Sam Bevilacqua Obituary

Sam "Sammy" Bevilacqua, Sr., 76, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on October 17, 1948, to Pearl Fasulo Bevilacqua and Charles Bevilacqua, in Beaumont.

Sammy was a faithful member of St. Anthony's Cathedral Basilica and loved elaborating on his attendance at St. Anthony's Elementary School. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

In 1967, he graduated from Beaumont High School, attended Lamar Tech in Beaumont and he began a life-long career as a valued employee of ExxonMobil for 40 years.

As a young adult, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, car races and horseback riding with many cousins and friends.

Fatherhood was one of his greatest joys in life. He was his children's biggest baseball fan. His gregarious nature and sense of humor brought priceless joy to his family, work, church and community. He will long be remembered.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Alexis Bevilacqua; sons, Gerald Alan Sticker of Brooklyn, New York and Sam Joseph Bevilacqua, Jr. and his wife, Mellie Proctor Bevilacqua, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Sam Joseph Bevilacqua III and Julia Josephine Bevilacqua; sister-in-law, Terry Mathews and her husband, Wally; half sisters-in-law, Anna Lorraine Huff and Rachel Denise Boothe; as well as many cousins and a large, loving extended family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina 28607.

A gathering of Mr. Bevilacqua's family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

Sammy was a true christian not only by his faith but his actions. He was the first person I met when I moved back to Beaumont. How he knew who I was really suprised me on that Sunday in church. His kindness and faith in Jesus was always out there for everyone to share. God blessed him with a faith in "works" and spirit. He was someone whom spread God's love to all he met.
