Sam "Spilios" A. Demos "Dimitropoulos", age 88 of Canton, passed away Monday, July 28th, 2025. Born in Lala Elias, Greece, to the late Andrew and Athanasia (Blahos) Dimitropoulos, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Catherine (Vlahos) Demos, brothers Nick (Eftimia), Dino (Maria), Angelo, Andrew Dimitropoulos, and sister Katherine (John) Economou. Sam served in the Greek Army for two years before coming to the United States, where he became a proud naturalized citizen. He was also very proud of his Greek heritage.

Sam loved his family very much; children Demetra "Debbie" Demos, Andrea (Patrick) Demos-Burns, Peter (Mary) Demos, grandchildren Danielle Griffin, Andrew Demos, Samia (Fatjon) Mansour, Tarek (Christine) Demos, Katerina (Joe) Burns, brother Theodore (Georgia) Dimitropoulos, sister-in-law Maria Dimitropoulos, and his special yorkipoo Taki, all who survive him. He additionally leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, God-children, family, and friends in Greece.

Sam was a hard-working man who did everything to support his family. He worked for 25 years at Superior Brand Meats before retiring. He then became employed with Stark County Job and Family Services for 14 years before his final retirement. He was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and the Men's Club of the church. Together, Sam and Catherine were members of the McKinley Eagles #2370 and enjoyed bowling and traveling the world together. Private services were held at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, and interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations in Sam's name may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. The family would like to send many thanks to Dr. Anastasi and the Aultman Hospital nursing staff.
