Sam Ethel Manns Perkins, born on April 27, 1942, in
Brownsville, TN, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Sam Ethel was the cherished daughter of Sam Manns and Velma Parish Manns.
In the journey of life, Sam Ethel found her soulmate, Arthur Perkins, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. She dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home as a devoted homemaker. Sam Ethel's commitment to her family was unwavering, and she found great fulfillment in caring for her loved ones.
Sam Ethel possessed a strong work ethic and a passion for nurturing those around her. She was a pillar of faith and a devoted member of the New Jerusalem Church, finding solace and strength in her spiritual community.
Sam Ethel had a vibrant and adventurous spirit, and she delighted in exploring new places through her travels. She found joy and excitement in playing bingo, baking delicious treats, and maintaining an active lifestyle through exercising and walking. One of her special pleasures was engaging in lively phone conversations, filled with laughter and shared secrets, with her beloved granddaughters.
Sam Ethel's legacy is carried on by her loving husband, Arthur Perkins, and her devoted daughter, Tyra (Malcolm) Manns, stepson, and daughter in law, Cheyenne Manns. Clayton Perkins. She is also survived by her siblings: Georgia Thomas, Larice Manns, Lester Manns, Lavonia Hamlin, and Robert Manns. Sam Ethel's memory will forever be cherished by her grandchildren: Zionteridy, Zamira, Shaterian, Shakira, Laron, Darnelle, Cameron, and Dejah. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Sam Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Manns and Velma Parish Manns; children, Terry Manns, Tammy Tolliver, Toyee Manns (Clarence Thomas), Parnell Manns, and David Robinson as well as her siblings: Alice Bell, James Arthur Lee, James L. Lee, Lula Mae Shaw, Willie Frank Mann, and Larry Manns. While they have passed on, Sam Ethel's spirit and the love she shared with them live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
