It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sam Vincent Picarella, age 74, who left us on August 14, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Papa, Sam was born on December 28, 1950, in Detroit to Albert and Mary Picarella. His journey through life was marked by an unwavering love for family and a zest for the great outdoors.
Sam was the beloved husband of Lori Picarella, his wife of 53 years. Together, they nurtured a warm and loving family, raising three children and welcoming six adoring grandchildren into their lives. Sam took immense pride in his family, often expressing gratitude for the joy they brought him. He delighted in spending time with his loved ones, sharing laughter, stories, and countless cherished memories.
A true outdoorsman, Sam found solace in nature, whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the wilderness. He was an avid sports fan, particularly when it came to supporting the Detroit Tigers, often seen cheering passionately for his team. Sam's carpentry and mechanical skills were legendary; he had a unique ability to fix or build anything and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Sam led a life characterized by love, laughter, and adventure. His generous spirit and warm heart touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will continue to inspire those he loved

Loving husband of Lori; cherished father to Dena (Dave) Bisby, Jennifer (Steve) Persyn, and Vincent (Ryanne) Picarella; proud Papa to Isabella, Alyse, Cole, Nolan, Alyssa, and Greyson; treasured brother to Joann, Maria, Albert, and Sylvia.

Joined in Heaven by his loving parents, Albert and Mary Picarella, and his dear brother Tony.
