Sam Sammons Obituary

Mr. Sammons, 65, of Hineston, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. Sam retired from Fort Polk after many dedicated years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He loved the outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, spending time in nature, and sitting around a warm fire with family and friends. Above all, he cherished his niece and nephews, and nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Lee Sammons, Sr.; and his mother, Dorothy Lea Hines.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two brothers, Barney Lee Sammons, Jr. (Juanita) of Many, and Steve Albert Sammons (Sharon) of DeRidder; one sister, Penny Jo Hunnicutt (Timothy) of DeRidder; four nephews, Brent (Sandy) Sammons, Greg (Presley) Sammons, Doug (Amber) Sammons, and Shelby Cooper; and one niece, Erika Cooper.
