Sam Willis Obituary
Samuel Matthew Willis, 45, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Sam was a talented surgical registered nurse whose compassion and steady presence were felt by everyone he worked with. He was known for his incredible taste in music, his quick wit, and his unwavering kindness-never speaking ill of others and always lifting the spirits of those around him. A lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, Sam rarely missed a game and wore his team's colors with pride. Sam was a devoted father, brother, and son, and loved his family deeply. He especially cherished time spent with his three boys.
Sam is preceded in death by his brother Jamie Wesley Willis; and his loyal hound dog, Junebug, who was always by his side.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Judith (Conkin) Willis; sons Sylvester "Sly" Willis, Evander "Van" Willis, and Weston "Denny" Willis; brother Christopher "Chris" Willis (Jill); sister Sarah Willis (Anderson Loggins); and several nieces and nephews.
In celebration of Sam's life, friends and family will gather from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Sam's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, carried through his sons, his family, and the many lives he touched with warmth, laughter, and light.
