In Loving Memory of Subhan (Sammy) Baksh
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Subhan (Sammy) Baksh on October 25, 2023, at the age of 76 peacefully at home. Subhan, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Subhan was born in Canal No. 1, Stanley Park, West Bank, Guyana to Rahim and Jaitoon Baksh on July 27th, 1947. He was raised with deep values and a strong sense of family, which would become the foundation of his life.
In 1969, fate brought Subhan together with his wife, Thelma and they pledged their everlasting love in marriage. Subhan is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge, building a life together that was filled with affection and understanding.
Subhan was a cherished father to his children: Sheik, who is married to Indira; Riza, who is married to Katie; and Ryan, who is married to Amanda. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Eric, Emily, and Jayden, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Zoe Ellis, Bibi Higgins, and family. Subhan had a large and loving extended family, including many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless dear friends who all held a special place in his heart.
Subhan was a man of simple pleasures and profound devotion. He found great joy in spending quality time with his family, fishing, traveling, and watching sports. His presence brought warmth and comfort to the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, quietness, and his ability to make everyone around him feel connected.
Subhan will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his soul find eternal peace and his family find solace in the beautiful memories he leaves behind.
