Mr. Sammy Marshall Boyce, age 84, of Roswell, NM, passed away on June 18, 2024, in Roswell, NM, surrounded by his family. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Sammy's family at www.andersonbethany.com.
Sammy was born on December 12, 1939, at St. Mary's Hospital in Roswell, NM, to Rachel and Sam Boyce.
Sammy graduated from Dexter High School in 1958, he then joined the US Army Reserves from January 29, 1961, to November 30, 1966.
He was a beloved husband to Darlene Boyce for 62 years. He and Darlene met in Maljamar, NM in 1961, and they married on March 22, 1962, in Hagerman, NM at the First Baptist Church.
Sammy was a devoted father to Johnny and DeeBee, and a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Darlene Boyce of Roswell, NM; son, Johnny Boyce of Roswell, NM; daughter and son-in-law: DeeBee and Bobby Bingham of Chickasha, OK; granddaughter and grandson: Sydni and Chris Sparks of Roswell, NM; grandson, Lucas Bingham of Chickasha, OK; great-great grandson, Cody Sparks of Roswell, NM; sisters-in-law: Ruby, Joyce, and Retta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Boyce; father, Sam Boyce; and grandson, Brody Bingham.
Sammy was known for his deep love for this family. He was also a passionate classic car enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved watching rodeos on TV.
A ceremony to honor and celebrate Sammy's life will be held on June 20, 2024, at 10 am, at Faith Baptist Church in Artesia, New Mexico.
Rest in peace, Sammy. Your service and love will always be remembered.

We want to send our deepest condolences to the Boyce family. Freddie attended Dexter High School with Sammy; and I Mary attended Hagerman High with Darlene. We were very fond of Sammy's parents as well. Prayers for God's strength, as you go through your journey of grief. RIP. Sammy, you are in your heavenly home.
