Sammy Lee "Handyman" Thompson, age 59, of Whiteville, NC, died Sunday, November 16, 2025 in his home.
Born August 15, 1966 in Horry County, SC, He was the son of the late A.Z. Thompson and Shirley Ann Gore Thompson.
He is survived by two sons, Samuel O'Neil Thompson (Britney) of Whiteville, NC and Robert Daniel Thompson (Amy) of Nichols, SC; one brother, Danny Thompson (Gay) of Clarendon, NC; three sisters, Annetta Cartrette of Loris, SC, Sandra Nealey of Tabor City, NC, Sherry Creech of Whiteville, NC; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lavern Thompson; and one sister, Kathy Lynn Thompson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Loris, SC.
