Samuel A. Basile

Samuel A. Basile, age 86, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, November 10, 2025. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1939, Sam was the beloved son of the late Nunzio and Vincenza (Autiello) Basile.

As a Lawrence High School graduate of the Class of 1956, Sam pursued higher education and earned his Bachelor's Degree, leading to a successful career for over 40 years with Raytheon as a mechanical draftsman. Known for his dedication and precision, Sam brought both skill and heart to his work.

Sam was a devoted father to Steven Basile and Kathleen Basile and a beloved father-in-law to her wife, Michele Mayo. He shared many years of love and partnership with his late wife, Arline (Madore) Basile. Later in life, he found joy and companionship with his current wife, Judith (Spero) Basile, with whom he shared over a decade of marriage.

Family was the cornerstone of Sam's life. He was the younger brother of the late Thomas Basile and sister-in-law Rose, and a proud and loving grandfather to Lori, Erica, and Briana Basile. His warmth, humor, unwavering love, he was always there for them.

Sam was a man of many talents. He could build and fix anything. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, if you needed help he was there. He approached every project with skill and enthusiasm, with hands rarely idle. He liked to travel, exploring the beauty of the world and connecting with his heritage.

A life-long Patriots and Bruins fan, Sam loved sharing commentary with family and friends, as well as, attending all his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor, often bringing laughter to those around him. In retirement, he took up golf, spending many enjoyable hours on the golf course with his friends and Judith.

Sam's legacy is one of love, craftsmanship, laughter, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His Funeral Service will be held the following morning, Monday, November 24, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
