Samuel Alexander Beasley
October 26, 1989 – January 17, 2026
Samuel “Sam” Beasley, of Denton, Texas passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of thirty-six. He was born in Odessa, Texas, and at age four, moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he grew up close to family.
Sam was active in sports- playing soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. He also trained in Taekwondo in which he attained the rank of Black Belt. In addition to all the sports he participated in, he was active in his youth group at church. His love for the Lord and studying the Bible continued into his adult life.
When Sam was a toddler, he loved to watch CMT music videos. He learned artist names and could tell you those names when he heard their music. He preferred watching these videos over cartoons or children shows. He continued his interest in music and learned to play the trumpet in junior high.
Sam was an only child, but he had a big extended family that he thoroughly enjoyed - especially his cousins who were very dear to him. His friendships were especially important to him as well.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and one of the most generous, kind hearts. He loved buying gifts for others even when he could not afford to do so.
He graduated from Coronado High School in 2008 and later moved to Denton where he continued his education at North Central Texas College while working in various trades. He recently moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was preparing to continue his education in IT.
Sam is survived by his mother, Lane Adams, and stepfather Arnold Adams of Denton, Texas, his Father, Herbert Beasley, Jr. of Mesquite, Texas, his grandmother Norma Robb-Thomason of Denton, and a large extended family who he adored. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Horace Robb, paternal grandmother, Shirley Richardson, and paternal grandfather Herbert Beasley (“Sam”).
As we reflect on Sam’s life, we celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the meaningful relationships he cultivated throughout his time with us. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held for Sam on Saturday, February 7 at DeBerry Funeral Home at 2025 W. University in Denton, Texas at 1:00 pm
