Samuel D. Burford

A private graveside service for Mr. Samuel D. Burford, 94, of Anniston, Alabama, was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jessie Barksdale officiating. Mr. Burford passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. Mr. Burford accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on October 20, 2025. A special thank you to his niece, Judy Parris, for her obedience and persistence in leading him to Christ. He proudly served his country in the Korean War, and was a longtime licensed electrician. Sam will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Burford was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dollie Burford; his daughter, Sandra Woodham; his grandson, Blake Woodham; his sisters, Evelyn Meads and Louise Griffitt; and his brothers, Robert D.P. Burford Jr., John Waymon Burford, and Hughes Franklin Burford. Survivors include his son, Mike Burford; his grandchildren, John Woodham (Darlene), Todd Burford (Caroline), Mandy Johnson (Alan), and Will Burford (Anna); his great-grandchildren, J.D. Woodham IV, Ava, Ali, and Thompson Burford, Jett and Ryleigh Burford, and Elleigh and Max Johnson; brother, Warnie Burford; and several nieces and nephews.
