Samuel Thomas “Sam” DuBois, 35, resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where he was baptized and a member. A private burial will be held at St. John’s Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Born on December 7, 1988, Sam is the son of James Thomas “Tom” DuBois and Anita Farmer DuBois. Sam had many natural talents and passions, which included music, art, woodworking, and various outdoor activities such as camping, cooking and grilling, fishing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and hockey. As a contributing artist, Sam enjoyed going to music and art festivals, showcasing his creativity through his paintings. Sam loved to make people laugh and had the biggest, most beautiful heart. Sam loved so hard and felt so deeply.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Ryan (Jewels) DuBois; sister, Whitney DuBois; nephew, Collin James DuBois; niece, Madelyn Jane DuBois; Aunts, Elaine (Rick) Sellars, Michelle (Brian) King, Marci DuBois, Lynne (Terry) Hendrickson; Uncles, Johnny (Pam) Farmer, Earl (Glenna) Alderson and Bobby Alderson; his beloved pug, Hank, and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Beth DuBois, Gideon and Maysel Farmer, and uncle Alan Farmer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan DuBois, Collin James DuBois, Wesley Hendrickson, Kyle Hendrickson, Stan Alderson, Rob Alderson, Ben Dickens, Rett Middleton, Gideon Sellars, Alex Sellars, Richard Sellars, Michael Baker, Ryan Goatz, Jay Burkeen, Tyler Powell, Jakaya Jones, and Joshua Simon.
Above all, Sam loved being with his family and friends.
