Samuel Thomas "Sam" Eicher, 81, of Claysburg passed away Thursday October 2, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born on June 1, 1944, in Claysburg, son of the late Alfred G. and Dorothy (Lingenfelter) Eicher. He married Sandra Dively, September 17, 1966, in Claysburg.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, a son Clayton Eicher, grandchildren Amber (Jonathan) Shaw, and Seth Eicher, a sister Mary Lou Feathers her husband Delmas, and two nephews Martin Feathers, and Kenneth Claycomb. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Eicher.

Sam was a member of the Claysburg United Methodist Church, a graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School, class of 1962. He then enlisted in the US Army from 1962 until 1965. He was a member of the American Legion, Claysburg.

He was employed at Butterick as a pressman, until its closing.

Sam enjoyed wood carving, riding his motorcycle, watching YouTube and westerns, and liked talking to his friends Carl Herman and John Reed.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM, on Tuesday October 7, 2025, at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday October 8, 2025, at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Sluder officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
