Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere, for Samuel Gobbi, of East Boston, who passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. His Funeral will begin from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
Samuel was born in Boston on March 12, 1937. He was the son of the late Fernando and Carmella (Lento) Gobbi. A lifelong resident of Boston, Samuel was raised and educated in East Boston where he remained for most of his life. He also lived in West Roxbury for a brief time with his parents and siblings until he married in 1962 and started his own family.
Samuel was an honest and hard-working man. He worked as a carpenter for many years. His specialty was cabinetmaking and painting. He was extremely handy and worked in maintenance for Shore Plaza Apartments. The job that he enjoyed the most was working alongside friends and family at Santarpio's in East Boston, for over 40 years until the time of his retirement at 78 years old.
Samuel was passionate about music. He was a talented musician and loved playing the harmonica. He especially loved 50's music. Most importantly, Samuel adored his family and cherished spending time with them. He was a beloved and devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Samuel was the devoted father of Donna (Gobbi) Egan and her husband Joseph of Boxford, Frederick Gobbi of East Boston, Michele Falzone of Gloucester and Sherri (Gobbi) Marin and her husband Fidel of Chelsea. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, David, Frederick, Jr., Amanda, Marissa, Louis, Samantha, Alex, Evan and Kiara. Loving great grandfather of Sidney Rose, Santino, Aalyah and Quincy. Dear brother of Edward Gobbi and Mary Moore. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his siblings, Gaetano and Joseph Gobbi, Rita DiChiara, Patricia Gobbi, Frank Gobbi, Emma Alexander, and Pasqualina "Lena" Gobbi.
