Samuel Kravitz

KRAVITZ, Samuel, age 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010. He lived most of his life in Philadelphia, where he worked in his family's real estate business and later as an inspector for the Philadelphia Housing Authority. He also was active with Meals on Wheels and "Handy Andy," a volunteer agency for the Philadelphia Electric Company. He moved to Richmond in 2000 to be closer to his family. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Selma Kravitz; daughter, Jean Greenberg (Michael); son, David Kravitz (Karen); daughter, Renee Kravitz (Dina); grandchildren, Andrea Nachman (Eric), Joy Berlin, Adam Kravitz, Seth Kravitz; great-grandchildren, Max, Alex, Benjamin, Eliana; and brother, Herbert Kravitz (Anita). A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday in the Or Atid section at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Auxiliary.
