Samuel (Sam) William Leath, 80, of Little Rock, AR, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Sam was born in Harrison, AR, on April 29, 1945, to Mary and Forrest Leath. He graduated from Little Rock Central High in 1966, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Sam served in the US Army from 1966—1969. In his youth he was a Boy Scout, he earned the Eagle Scout Award and Vigil Honor in Order of the Arrow. The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow bestowed to its members for service to lodge, council and Scouting. Membership can not be won by a person’s conscious endeavors. From 1980-1988 he was a leader of his son’s troop; Troop 395 at St. James United Methodist Church. His son earned his Eagle Scout under his leadership.
Sam is preceded in death by Mary Lee Leath, wife; Forrest Alexander Leath, father; Mary Louise Dickson, mother; Thomas Forrest Leath, brother. He is survived by his daughter Lori Helen Pitcock, (Jeff) and sons William Donald Leath, Ronald William Dennie, (Lianne). He has 6 grandchildren Carter and Katherine (Kapi) Pitcock, Leighton and Briggs Leath, and Toren and Wilder Dennie. Along with a whole host of incredible friends in Florida.
We are most thankful for the staff at Hickory Heights. So many of you lifted his spirits and provided him with care and compassion during these last few years.
A grave side service will be held in Harrison, Arkansas at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
