Samuel Mack Obituary
Samuel Mack was born August 12, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, to Samy and Sandra "Pat" Mack. He was the fifth of six living children. He was affectionately known as Dinky, a nickname given to him by his Grandma Mack.
Samuel attended Metropolitan Baptist Church, the church home of the Mack family and a host of descendants of his great grandmother, Rosie Glover. It was here at a young age that he professed his hope in Christ. Samuel attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Thomas Edison Preparatory School in 1990. At Edison, he was a 1990 4A Heavyweight Wrestling State Champion and he lettered in football. He worked as a welder for many years.
Samuel and Angela Givens joined together in November 1994 and later married in March 2009 and to this union, three children were born. Samuel deeply loved his family and friends. His children and grandchildren were a source of great pride and joy for him. Regardless of his struggles, he maintained a strong sense of care and concern for his family and friends. His vibrant spirit, sense of humor, and love for singing and dancing made him the life of the party. His nickname, "Dinky" would suggest someone small, but he was more of a gentle giant throughout much of his life. At his core, Samuel was a loyal and giving person, serving as both a challenger and a peacemaker, while also providing comfort and encouragement to those around him.
At the age of 52, Samuel departed this earthly life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra "Pat" Mack; father, Samy Mack, Sr.; brother, Richard Mack; maternal grandparents, Henry and Ruthie Fox; and paternal grandparents, Corry and Henrietta Mack.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his wife, Angela "Ann" Mack; his sons, Jajuan Bryant and Samuel Mack, Jr.; his daughters, Courtney Mack, Kemetric Bryant, Ayanna Love, and Ashanti Mack; his bonus children, Aaron Givens, Eric Givens, and Amari Mayfield; his 15 grandchildren; his sisters, Gwendolyn Lawton, Samette Britt (David), Tyna Barnett, and June Mack-Smith and his brothers, Samy Mack, Jr., and Thomas Mack; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
