Mr. Samuel C. Maples

Maples, Samuel C. of Sevierville, TN passed on April 15, 2008. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Sam served in the US Navy during World War II and was a proud military veteran. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, former Sevierville Police Chief Charlie and Willie Belle Maples; brothers, Henry, John, Paul V., Charlie, Jr. and Ben Maples; sister, Helen Maples McLemore; wife, Clara Maples and special devoted friend Barbara Brown. He is survived by his sister, Ann Maples Kelley; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved great niece and nephew Aleisa and Adam Moussa; also special sisters-in-law Laura Maples and Lillie McCarter. The family will receive friends Friday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m. at Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike in Knoxville. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Highland Memorial Funeral Home, with burial following at Highland Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Kitts officiating. Military honors will be provided by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
