Samuel Kenneth "Kenny" McCain, age 83 passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at his daughter's residence in Eupora, MS surrounded by his family. Kenny was born in Eupora, MS on October 24, 1941 to Albert and Sammie McCain. He was a retired car salesman. Kenny was known for his quick wit and a love of general tomfoolery. He had a unique way with words that served him well selling cars and as the long-time voice of the Eupora Eagles football team. He found joy in the simple pleasures in life. He loved a good domino game with friends at the pool hall and then later at Rudy’s barber shop. He spent his life committed to healthy eating taking in large quantities of sweets, fat back, and high dollar sardines. He loved Ole Miss football and cheered on the Rebs until the end. Kenny is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Brandon) Creel, Franklinton, LA; Elizabeth "Liz" (Paul) Orr, Eupora, MS; three sons, Samuel Kenneth "Sam" (Mandy) McCain II, Brentwood, TN; Al McCain, Eupora, MS and Stephen "T-Poo" (Jill) McCain, Dallas, TX and eleven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sammie Tidwell McCain, one sister, Betty McCain Bailey and two brothers, Marion McCain and Dub McCain. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Kenny will be at 11:00AM Monday, October 28, 2024, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery in Webster County, MS after a drive by Kenny’s childhood home that he lovingly remembered as “the old place”. Bro. Bobby Pogue will officiate. Pallbearers will be Hampton Creel, Harrison Creel, Hayes Creel, Peyton Orr, Mark Bailey, Franky McCain, Gregg McCain, Rodney McCain and Terry McCain. The McCain family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Oliver Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 8:00PM and on Monday, October 28, 2024 prior to services at 11:00AM. Rest in peace, Kenny, “Hatchet”, and Daddy. You will be missed more than you can imagine. Your love, your laughter, and your lessons will stay with us, and we will share stories of you until the end.
