I was a post war baby. I has been later in life that I learned to love the history of the Code Talkers. What a service they provided our nation.
Rest well thou good and faithful servant.

I was saddened to hear of your husband´s and father´s death. I was born in 1948 and grew up hearing stories of WWII. It is only recently that I have learned of his honorable and brave service he gave to our country. This generation cannot imagine what he endured during that time. My most humble thanks and gratitude to him and his fellow Windtalkers. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

I'm saddened to hear of Mr. Sandoval's passing, but thankful and honored to meet Mr. Sandoval when he attended our Veterans Day / Native American Heritage celebration in Grand Rapids, Michigan November 11, 2011. He was not only a great orator, but he was also funny, and it came out when he told us his story.

My prayers go out to his wife, family and friends. He was a great man for many reasons, and I know he will be greatly missed; but the legacy of what he did in World War II will live on long after we are all gone.

It was truly and honor and joy spending time with him.
