"Earth Has No Sorrow That Heaven Cannot Heal" Assignment Completed!

Ava B. Allen

March 2, 2025

We are so saddened to just now find out about the passing of Rev. Dr. Samuel Stevenson. Pastor Sam was our pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem for many, many years. He was a visionary and strong spiritual leader to our church family and in the community.00 His precious wife walked this journey with him hand and hand. They were a precious couple. Giving God thanks that we were blessed to know him. Praying that God will give comfort to Mabel, Joy and all his family during this very difficult time.

We were so sorry to hear of your lost, Mable and Joy, family and friends.
Anytime I was around Sam he always had a smile. There was a big void in the community when you guys moved. Now we will never have a void in our HEARTS.

I am thankful for the witness and service of Sam Stevenson. He and I were serving as ruling elders on the session when he received the call to ordained teaching ministry. I followed his ministry over the years. He also shared ideas and grace moments with me as I interacted with him over the years. Our church members also traveled to North Carolina for his ordination. Blessings for a shared ministry with his family, church and others.
