Marshall was patient with us as we figured out, little by little and year by year, what to do with our small back yard on Tybee. We knew we wanted a water feature, a small fountain, and when he and his team disassembled an old concrete and stone barbecue pit, they found a lot of ballast stones and assorted chunks of concrete with oyster shells. Marshall turned one of those chunks into a fountain, centered in a ballast stone water feature. That was just one of his many inspirations that continue, like the memories of our conversations, to make us smile. He was a mighty fine friend.
