Samuel H. Swinton, 68, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by family October 9, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center.

Born on September 9, 1957, in Columbus, North Carolina, Samuel was the beloved son of the late Harold Frink and Rosalee (Swinton) Daniels. He spent his early years in Columbus before moving to Philadelphia for his education, and later made Springfield his lifelong home.

For over 40 years, Samuel was a dedicated employee of Milton Bradley, known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and good humor. A skilled plumber by trade, he was always willing to lend a hand.

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Samuel's passion for football was matched only by his love for his family. Known for his quick wit and "playful torture" of loved ones, he brought laughter and joy wherever he went. He especially cherished his role as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Samuel is survived by his loving daughter, Sabrina Swinton, her mother Lucy Loman, and his cherished grandchildren, Kaiden Swinton and P'Jae Miller, all of Springfield; two brothers, Ronald D. Swinton of Chicopee and Billy Lewis; and three sisters, Gloria Caudle, Saundra Swinton-Crenshaw and her husband Dennis, and Sharon Swinton-Brown and her husband Anthony, all of Springfield. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will deeply miss his presence.

In addition to his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his sisters Brenda Swinton, Inez Swinton, and Gwendolyn Swinton.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery on Bay Street in Springfield.
