Sammy, I will never forget those days when you, Carol, Skeeter, and I lived on Shultz Avenue, where you were an entrepreneur barber shop owner. I enjoyed your hospitality when you and Carol shared your home with us when we were remodeling our fixer-upper down the street from your house. Most of all, I am grateful that you and Carol shared little Monty Monty with me during his short life.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to my dear friend, Carol, and the whole family in the loss of Sammy. May God send his loving angels of peace and comfort to help you through these trying days.
With love, Ann

Uncle Sammy it's hard to believe that cancer reared it's ugly head and took you so fast. Barely six weeks ago you had a severe pain that caused you to seek medical attention. I'm still in a daze from hearing the doctor say you have stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver Cancer with no forewarning. However, you took the diagnosis like a real soldier! I'm going to miss you and the humor you have provided my entire life.

Most of all I am going to miss having you on my trips. I had no idea New York would be our last trip with your sugar moniter beeping loudly for hours at a time and you not having a clue. You and Aunt Carol introduced me to the world of vacation at an early age Charleston, West Virginia Coonskin Park where we rode paddle boats and ponies "ok" (Rand, West Virginia population 915) it felt like we were going to the big city, stopping in Rio Grande, Ohio at the Jumbo for a footlong hot dog each time we went. Traveling to Detroit, New York, and Atlantic City on my first casino trip. The most fun was as kids going to Washington D.C. in the back of your new pick-up where we could have been road kill.

You took me all over, then when I got grown I got to take you on adventures where we went to Williamsburg, Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami, San Diego, etc... I believe your most memorable was to South Dakota
to Mt. Rushmore and when we went to both of President Obama's Inagurations, New Orleans, your one and only cruise (Bahama's) and Amtrak train ride from Chicago to L.A. You exposed me to the world and I will never forget it or you. You taught me alot and I Love You, Your Favorite Niece Yvette
