Sandra “Sandi” Dumke, 84, of Baxter, peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus on December 13, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service and a light meal.
Sandi was born on August 30, 1941, in Minneapolis to Gordon and Evelyn Rognrud. She grew up in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, and spent cherished time at her family cabin on Wilkins Lake in Palisade, where she met her beloved husband, Bill. They were married on May 6, 1961, and together raised three beautiful daughters: Lori, Lisa, and Gwen.
Throughout their lives, Sandi and Bill lived in various places across Minnesota but ultimately fell in love with the Brainerd Lakes area, where they made their home for over 50 years. Both Sandi and Bill acquired their real estate license, and started a brokerage firm, Northwood Real Estate, which they successfully ran for many years before retiring in 2004.
Sandi found great joy and fulfillment in creating with her hands. She was a talented seamstress and interior designer, a self-proclaimed “knit-wit,” and delighted in making those she loved laugh. She wrote limericks and enjoyed creating Swedish and Norwegian goods.
Sandi will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, resilience, memorable smile, sense of humor, and caring, joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She always made family and friends feel welcomed, comforted, and special in her own unique way.
Grateful for sharing Sandi’s life are her daughters: Gwen (Will) Eggert and Lisa (Monty); grandchildren: Lindsey (Bryan) Eastvold, Emily (Drew) Mitchell, Koley Giese, Nathan, and Ben; great-grandchildren: Sydney, Drake, Molly, Sophie, Vera, Erisa, Eagan, Matteo, Josiah, and Oliver; nieces: Julie, Becky, and Jane; and nephews: Troy and Guy.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her sister, Anita; her brother, Gary; her daughter, Lori (Doug) Underdahl; her nephew, Scott; and her niece, Wendy.
