Sandra Anderson Obituary
Age 81 of Maple Grove passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Wellstead of Rogers Senior Living.
Sandy was born on January 19, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN to parents Floyd & Doris (nee Anderson) Sumpter. Baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith; Graduated from Minneapolis North High School in 1962. She married John D. Anderson on October 8, 1966.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Robert, WIlliam & Dennis Sumpter; sister Delores Gardner.
Sandy is survived by her husband John; son Christopher (Kathie) Anderson; daughter Stacy (Brandon) Kjelland; grandchildren Kimberly, Christopher, Emily, Anders, Annika, & Elin; sisters Joy (Robert) Schmidt & Patricia (William) McDowell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.
Sandy loved spending time with her grandchildren, Bible studies, singing in the church choir, golfing, bowling, art classes, traveling & dancing. She retired from Dayton's Special Events Department.
A service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at King of Grace Lutheran Church, 6000 Duluth Street, Golden Valley. A luncheon will follow the service.
Memorials are preferred to the King of Grace Choir.
