SANDRA K. ASHBAKER, 83, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 pm, Monday, January 26, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo.
Sandra was born to the late Wilbert R. and Katherine (nee Snyder) Braun on July 21, 1942, in Red Bud, Illinois.
Sandra married Lloyd J. Ashbaker on March 16, 1962, in Clayton, Illinois; he preceded her in death on April 16, 2022. They were happily married for 60 years.
Sandra was the mother of one son, whom she abundantly fed and clothed, and who always received numerous presents for his birthday and Christmas. She always helps him when he asks. She took him along on trail rides, antique buying, and flea market shopping trips. She had worked at International Shoe Factory in Evansville as a stitcher, was a school bus driver for Dehne Bus Service in Red Bud for many years, and worked for Venture Retail Store in Belleville, Illinois.
Sandra enjoyed riding horses, collecting antiques, gardening, and traveling with her husband.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Husband, 3 Brothers – Robert “Bobby” Braun, Wilbert “Butch” Braun, and Ray David Braun (infant), and 1 Brother-in-law – Leroy Wachtel
It was Sandra’s wish to be cremated. A private inurnment will be at St. Marcus Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
