Sandra Kay Bledsoe of Greenwood passed away at Greenwood Meadows on October 13, 2025. She was 82 years of age. She was born May 7, 1943, in Indianapolis to the late Dimmon Prentiss Abney and Henrietta Jeanette (Jenkinson) Abney. She was joined in the union of marriage to Darriel W. Bledsoe on June 19, 1961. He preceded her in passing in 1996. Sandra was a woman of strong Christian Faith and found her true calling as a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to sing karaoke, play bingo and solve word puzzles. She was also known to enjoy reading a good book and pass time playing computer games. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family, who adored her.
Sandra is survived by her daughters Sonja Daggett, Darriel Bledsoe and Shawnee Bledsoe, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Donzella Loschky (Ronnie Loschky) and Margaret Jean Summitt. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in passing by her daughter Lori DeAnne Cady.
Final care and arrangements for Sandra by Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. There is a Celebration of Life planned for November 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00p.m. For additional information on the Celebration contact Sonja Daggett direct at 317-918-5167.
