Sandra Carter-Poteat

Sandra Carter Poteat of Copperas Cove, Texas, was born on November 22, 1950, and passed away on September 28, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Dorthy Carter. Sandra dedicated 38 years of her life to teaching, where she was admired for her patience, wisdom, and compassion. She touched the lives of countless students, colleagues, and families, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion to education. Beyond her career, Sandra was known as a wonderful mother and grandmother whose love and guidance were the heart of her family. She is survived by her two children, Chantee Poteat and Kivi Poteat; four grandchildren, Colby Henry, Madison Henry, Aleah Henry, and Aisha Poteat; her sisters, Dianne Carter Richter, Janice Carter Petit, and Donna Carter Green; and her brothers, David Carter,the late Keith Carter, and Mark Carter. Sandra will always be remembered as a devoted teacher, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a truly remarkable person.
