My Sandy... in the short time I knew her, she touched me in a way I just can't put into words. To say it was special would be an understatement and an injustice. She was so much fun, she was kind and generous, selfless! And she loved, so very deeply. She showed me that she cared, not merely with words, but with her actions. She was a better friend to me in the short time I knew her than most people I've known my entire life... I am so very relieved and--to put it simply--happy knowing that she is free and in peace. But that selfish part of me is so angry. My heart is broken... I didn't get enough time... none of those who were lucky enough to be loved by Sandy got enough time. I'm so sorry for that, Charlie. Please know that you are in my prayers and I am only a phone call away, anytime, for anything at all. And know that I will carry Samdy with me every day, for the rest of my life, just as she said she would be when she gave me her purple butterfly. "Now I'll always be with you." And she will.
