Sandra P. Couto

Sandra (Faini) Couto, age 88, of East Falmouth, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Born on May 4, 1937, in Framingham, Massachusetts. Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, niece, and friend.

Sandra was intelligent and wise, deeply loyal, and always ready for an adventure. She cherished her daily walks, treasured her family and friends, and found joy in every moment spent with them. An avid reader who loved the library, she found comfort in the stories on its pages. Summers found her enjoying the beaches of Falmouth or in the company of cherished friends, and winters brought her to Boca Raton, Florida, and later Islamorada, Florida, to be with her son and grandchildren. Well-traveled and endlessly curious, Paris held a special place in her heart. Sandra devoted herself to volunteering with hospice and Neighborhood Falmouth, giving back to the community she held so dear. Her Catholic faith guided her through life's ups and downs, and she took pride in being a member of the church.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Mariano (Mickey) Couto. She is survived by her children, Linda White (Patrick) and Paul Varney (Kim); Grandchildren, Karen Doble, Lauren Naughton, Michael Varney, Nicholas Varney, and Matthew Clamme; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Doble, Cassie Doble, Catherine Doble, and Hailey Naughton.

Visiting hours will be held in Chapman Funeral and Cremations 475 Main Street Falmouth Monday, January 5th from 4-6pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 6th at 11:00am in St. Patrick's Church 511 Main Street Falmouth.

Burial will follow the Mass in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne at 1:15pm.
