Sandra Kay "Sandy" Cox, age 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and ardent sailor, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born March 30, 1943, in Springfield, Missouri, to Eldon and Barbara (Stults) Pachl.

After graduating from high school, Sandy went on to study biology and agriculture at Missouri State University in Springfield. On January 28, 1967, she married the love of her life, Bobby T. Cox, in Rolla, Missouri, and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

A multitalented woman and entrepreneur, Sandy worked alongside her husband, Bob, at Acorn Stamping, Inc. in Oxford, MI, for the past 28 years, where she served as Vice President of Operations and part-owner. Sandy always prioritized employee well-being, introducing innovative processes to improve plant production and making employee tasks easier. Her commitment to the team and her forward-thinking ideas made a lasting impact on everyone at Acorn Stamping. She was a devoted member of Shoreline Church of Christ in Muskegon and a life member of the Muskegon Yacht Club.

Sailing was one of Sandy's greatest passions-she spent more than 48 years on the water. She and Bob owned and raced their beloved boat, Ricochet, which was honored as the 2025 Boat of the Year at Muskegon Yacht Club. Over the years, she mentored many young sailors, generously sharing her knowledge and teaching them essential skills–most notably the intricacies of foredeck work.

Sandy was also a gifted artist who found joy in painting and creativity. She was a driving force in children's theatre groups, where she designed and built imaginative sets that delighted young audiences. Her inventive mind and generous heart made her a treasured collaborator and mentor.

Sandy touched countless hearts with her compassion, resilience, and joyful spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of creativity, generosity, adventurous spirit, and love will endure in the lives she has shaped and the memories she leaves behind.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; two children, Teri (Greg) St. John and Jeremy (Jane Bunting) Cox; four grandchildren, Madelynn (Cameron Knash) Cox, Nathen Cox, Cayden St. John, and Graydy St. John.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Bobi Jean Cox.

A Celebration of Sandy's Life will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231) 726-5210. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A light meal will be served at Shoreline Church of Christ at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Muskegon Junior Sailing Association or the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Share memories with the family at their online Guest Book at https://www.sytsemafh.com.
