Sandra Crosby Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 4, 2026.
Warren, OH - Sandra D. Crosby, 76, peacefully transitioned from labor to reward surrounded by her loved ones on February 25, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Sandra was born November 19, 1949, in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Mary Elizabeth Hyter Anderson and Thomas R. Anderson. She was raised in Farrell, Pennsylvania, where she developed her deep faith and spiritual foundation.

During her early years she was a faithful member of Greater Mount Zion COGIC under the leadership of the late Superintendent Wilbert G. Hadden. Sandra later relocated to Warren, Ohio, where she became a devoted member of Elim Christian Center, faithfully serving under the leadership of the late Apostle Loretta J. Pernice.

Sandra attended the Farrell Area School District and was later employed with the Keystone Blind Association, where she specialized in microfilming crafts and making straw brooms. She was also a proud member of the Mercer County Blind Bowling League. Through the league she traveled for competitions and earned multiple awards, accomplishments that reflected her determination, independence, and vibrant spirit.

Sandra faithfully dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Her family was her greatest joy and greatest accomplishment. She treasured every opportunity to gather her loved ones together. Sandra instilled in her family a strong foundation of biblical principles, prayer, and unwavering trust in God. She did not simply speak faith; she lived it daily. Through her example she taught resilience, compassion, forgiveness, and the importance of keeping God first in all things. Her covering of prayer will continue to surround her family for generations to come.

Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, praising the Lord and sharing His word. She loved flowers and gardening, decorating her home for the holidays, playing dominoes, listening and dancing to music, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Angelique (Jermaine) Crosby Brown and Angelette Crosby, both of Warren, Ohio; and Angelina Crosby of Tolleson, Arizona; "Debra Robinson" of Warren, Ohio.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Tianna (Tyler) Daniels; Monty (Dana) Roberts, both of Warren, Ohio; Anton (Elexcess) Crosby Sr. of Glendale, Arizona; T'Keyah (Orin) Crosby Bacchus; KyRell (Elizabeth) Haynes; Marc Grier, all of Warren, Ohio; Antonio Crosby of Tolleson, Arizona; and Jizelle Wells of Hermitage, Pennsylvania. She was also blessed with great grandchildren: Anton Jr., Aryah, Alijah, Or'Rhyionn, Or'Mauni, Bry'Ann, and A'Lani..

Sandra memory is embedded in the heats of her siblings Linda (Cleophus) Henley of Detroit, Michigan; Angela Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona; and Robert Anderson of Warren, Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

As Sandra crossed the celestial sands of time into eternity, she was reunited with her awaiting parents, Mary E. Anderson and Thomas R. Anderson; son, Kevin Austin; siblings, Marian Ann Anderson, Elmer Jones, Annie R. Anderson, Nadine El-Ha'kim, Odessa Solomon, and Roy Anderson; nephew, Cornell Brewer; and a special friend, Ricky May.

Sandra embodied the essence of Paul's sacred writings in 2 Timothy 4:7, " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith!" Her life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. Though she has entered into eternal rest, her prayers, strength, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

In honor of a life well-loved and lived, a 10:00 AM public viewing will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Greater Mount Zion Church of God and Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd, Farrell. The Celebration of Life Services will begin at 11:00 AM with Superintendent Tyrone Steals officiating and Elder Dorian Johnson-Truss as the eulogist. After the committal ceremony, Sandra will be laid to rest upon the serene meadows of Oakwood Cemetery.
