Sandra Watts Cushway, a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the age of 62.

Sandi recently retired from the City of Daphne Human Resources Department. She enjoyed travelling, shopping and spending time with her family and pets. Sandi loved puzzles and games and could usually be found playing Sudoku or working a crossword puzzle. She was also active in the Young Marines as her son was growing up and assisted with organizing events and helping to administer various activities for the chapter. Sandi was a big supporter of local animal shelters and the effort to spay and neuter pets.

Sandi is preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Weit; her cousins, Connie and Richard; her mother-in-law, Catherine Cushway MacDougall; and her aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Bert Cushway; her son, Michael Watts (Megan); her granddaughter, Annabelle Loeffler; her father, Ed Hester (Jo); her sister, Susan Entwistle; half-brother, Johnathan Hester (Stephanie); step-sister, Tami Guthrie (Jeff); step-brother, Tim Johnson (Tonyia); niece, Emma Entwistle; nephew, Jack Entwistele (Sophie); and grandniece, Charlie Rose Entwistle.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to any local animal shelter in Sandi's name.

Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
