Sandra Kay Dearwester

Sandra Kay Ledars Dearwester, age 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her devoted husband Robert and her children: Randy Dearwester, Jan (Dearwester) Riordan, Tracey Scott (Dearwester, formerly Gump), former son-in-law Paul Gump and her bonus son Edward Riordan. Her legacy continues throught her six grandchildren: Julie Dearwester, Patrick (Mike) Riordan (Natalie), Katelyn (Riordan) Rader (Ben), Andrew Riordan, Hannah Gump, and Joshua Gump; and three great-grandchildren: Lennon Rader, Jack Rader, and Evelyn Riordan. She also leaves behind her sister Patricia (Elvin); preceded in death by her brother Leroy (Sandy).
Throughout her life, Sandy held many interesting jobs, but her career truly flourished during her remarkable 40 years as Staff Manager at Covert Management on Longboat Key, Florida. She retired in 2022 at the age of 80 and returned to Cincinnati to be with her family and spend her final years surrounded by loved ones. She often reflected that her time on Longboat Key as her most formative years, filled with lessons in resilience, community, and faith.
At St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Sandy found her spiritual home. She converted to Catholicism and served the parish faithfully as a Lector for 35 years. She aslo contributed her time and talents as Secretary and Treasurer of the Ladies Guild, was a member of the Parish Council, and volunteered at the church rummage sale. Although she joined the choir for a brief time-always joking that she couldn't carry a tune-her true gift was her devotion and service to her parish community. Sandy's life was defined by faith, family, and service. What began with two has grown into a legacy of fifteen and counting, a testament to her love, strength, and devotion.
