Sandra Woods Dellva, 74, of Centennial, CO and
Cape Coral, FL passed away on November 19, 2025, at Cape Coral Hospital, surrounded by her husband and three children.
Sandra was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by many across the world. Her compassion guided her through a lifetime of service to others, both in her more than 50-year career as a nurse and in the way she cared for family and friends near and far. Her wide circle of friends across the globe is a testament to her kindness, loyalty, and generosity.
Born on January 1, 1951, in Liverpool, England, Sandra was the youngest of six children. She and her siblings often recounted stories of their parents listening to day-long cricket matches on the radio and playing card games.
She trained as a nurse at Warrington General Hospital, beginning what would become a lifelong career and calling. She was known by her patients and colleagues for her calm presence, gentle humor, and dedication to service.
In her mid-20s, Sandra left England in search of a new endeavor, landing in Fort Worth, TX to work in the ER at an area hospital. Shortly thereafter, she visited a friend in the Cayman Islands, BWI, and soon worked in the local hospital, staying for seven years and earning 'Cayman Islands Nurse of the Year'.
Sandra moved to Houston in 1985, where she met and married Paul, her loving husband of 40 years. They went on to have three children: Benjamin Paul, Annie Patricia, and Lily Elizabeth. She was a devoted mother and the steady center of the family.
Always up for adventure, Sandra and family moved from Texas to Louisiana to Colorado and more recently enjoyed the Florida winters with Paul after one too many unpredictable snowstorms. Wherever she went, Sandra touched the lives of those around her and made lifelong friends. She worked for many years at local hospitals and remained a part-time employee at Rose Medical Center in Denver until her death.
Sandra traveled extensively, visiting over 40 countries across six continents with family and friends. In more recent years, she and Paul loved their "local" adventures, exploring National Parks, or traveling the country together in their RV, visiting family and friends.
Sandra was a lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club and maintained her allegiance until the end. During her youth in Liverpool, she excelled in swimming and later participated as a member of the Cayman Islands Netball team. She consistently engaged in racket sports, even through illness, ultimately focusing on pickleball, with her final match occurring five days prior to her passing.
She was present for the birth of her three grandchildren and offered support to her son and daughter-in-law as they navigated becoming parents. Sandra remained close to her children and spoke on the phone to them daily.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; three children, Ben (Stephanie), Annie, and Lily; three grandchildren, Tommy, Charlie and Libby; two brothers, Rich (Barbara) and John (Hazel); two sisters-in-law, Viola and Grace, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Tommy and Annie Woods; two brothers, Tom and Frank; and one sister, Anne. By coincidence, Sandra's eldest brother Tom passed away on November 19, 1995-exactly 30 years before she did.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Cape Coral on Sunday, Dec 21st, 3-6PM at 2534 SE 24th PL, 33904---Food and Drink Provided. Another celebration will take place January 17th, 2026, in Denver; time and location will be shared once finalized.
