Sandra E. Duran-Diaz "Sandy", 61, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1964, in Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floran Duran and Connie Heauer; her stepfather, Ralph Heuer; her son, Derrick Diaz; and brothers-in-law, Denny Key and Marc Sandburg.
Sandy is survived by her two children, Dominic A. Trujillo and spouse, Vanessa Acuna-Trujillo and daughter, Chrystal A. Loya; her grandchildren, Nadia Acuna, Derryck A. Trujillo, and Scarlett Loya; and her sisters, Sally and husband, Larry Bryant, Elenor Key, and Debbie Sanburg. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Sandy served over 20 years. She later worked for the New Mexico Board of Realtors and the Social Security Administration. She was active in her community through school booster clubs, cheer coaching, retired Guard activities, and recently served as PTO President at her granddaughter's school.
Sandy will be remembered for her strength, generosity, faith, and love of family.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Church Westside, 6051 Winter Haven Rd. NW. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A reception will follow burial at the American Legion Duran y Gallegos Post 69, 9000 4th St. NW. If you wish to bring food for the reception, it may be taken to the post at 9:00 a.m.
