Sandra Ann Dombi, 90, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on November 2, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Sabol.
She married the love of her life, Joseph Z. Dombi on May 30, 1959, and shared a beautiful life together until his passing in 2015. She is survived by her children, Dianne (Alan) Wilhelm and Joseph A. (Karen) Dombi; grandchildren, Brett (Lucia) Wilhelm, Jason Wilhelm, Zachary (Himali) Dombi, Tessa (Jared) Dombi, Dylan (Sarah) Dombi, and Jenna Dombi; great-grandchildren, Nico, Sophia, Olivia, Isabella, Rohan.
In additional to her husband and parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia (Dave) Prevoznik.
Affectionately known as "Nana," Sandra was the heart of her family. Her grandchildren will forever remember her legendary grilled cheese sandwiches-no one made them quite like she did. She was known for her love of Southern Comfort, and her family invites all who knew her to raise a glass in her honor.
For 35 years, Sandra and Joseph hosted a lively 4th of July celebration, welcoming a large amount of guests annually-a testament to their warmth and hospitality. Sandra found joy in crafting, especially in making heartfelt cards for those she loved. Her cheerful spirit, kindness, and sense of humor touched everyone she met.
Sandra's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private service will be held for Sandra, and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Westwood Abbey Mausoleum).
Sandra's family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Commons of Providence for the loving care they provided Sandra over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra's memory to the Commons of Providence, Sandusky, Ohio.
