Sandra Erickson

1939 - 2025

Sandra Erickson was born 22 May 1939 in Logan, Utah to Joseph Vereen & Lucy Niederhauser. She is sealed to her step-father James William Ellis & Lucy Niederhauser Ellis.

Sandra attended Utah State College with an Art Education major. These classes developed a life-long love of art. She served an LDS mission to the Southern States Mission in 1961. Immediately after her mission she and 2 friends spent the summer touring Europe, Egypt, and the Middle East.

Sandra married Wayne Erickson of Smithfield on 7th June 1963 in the Logan Temple. She and Wayne spent their honeymoon summer in a Fire Lookout in Cle Elum WA. Wayne's career took them to Monticello UT, Mesa AZ, St. George UT, Cheyenne WY, and American Fork where they gleaned 7 children, David Wayne (Elizabeth Dykstra), Bryce Alan (Gloria Maez), Martin John (Patti Grace), Todd Jay (Laurie Schlensker), Sue Ann (Alan Rutherford), Laura Lee (Tom Prado), and William Nathan (Felicia Draper). Grandchildren (in order of age): Rianneke, Gunnar, Caden, Rylee, Abigail, Tyler, Alleah, Serena, Lucy, Siena, and Ellie. Sandra cherished her family. Her sister is Sonya McBride, and brothers are Bill Page and Clair Ellis.

Sandra loved all things beautiful, Temple worship, the scriptures, Flower Gardens, design, travel, art museums, uplifting classic movies, plays, family activities and events, and setting a lovely table cooking colorful yummy food. Life-long activity in the LDS church was a rich blessing in her life. Sandra will be buried next to her husband Wayne in the Highland City Cemetery.

Sandra wrote almost all of the above in 2018 as a way to be a help to her loved ones at her passing. Sandra our mom, sister, grandma, aunt, neighbor, and friend lived a wonderful life of adventure, artistic creativity, family connection, compassionate service, and devotion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the good in the world. We all loved her dearly. Her enthusiasm, smiles, fun times, support, and love will be greatly missed.

A funeral service for Sandra will be held on Saturday, December 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 975 N 60 East in American Fork UT, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., and a viewing on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary, 49 E 100 North in American Fork.
