Sandra Kay Ervin

Sandra Kay Ervin, age 78 of Mason, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening March 29, 2025 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born October 30, 1946 in Leesburg, the daughter of the late Delbert L. "Jack" and Rowena I. (McClure) Pitzer. Sandra was a member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a 1964 graduate of Fairfield High School, and attended Columbus Business College. She retired from the Lebanon City School District after many years of service. She loved gardening and caring for her plants, loved to read, play games, listen to music, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Ohio State fan. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Steven N. Ervin, whom she married on December 19, 1970 at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Andrew Moore of Walhonding; two grandchildren, Paxton Moore and Sawyer Moore; her mother-in-law Darlene Ervin of Highland; two siblings, Brenda (Mark) Armstrong and Jack Pitzer, both of Leesburg; and a brother-in-law, Randall Walker of Leesburg. She was loved by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and leaves many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Walker; her sister-in-law Sherry Pitzer; and her father-in-law, Claar Ervin. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, when a funeral service will begin. Pastor Mark Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in the Whiteoak Grove Cemetery.
