Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory - West Odessa on Nov. 25, 2025.
Sandra Anne Etheridge lived a life marked by love, creativity, and an infectious enthusiasm for her many interests. Born on March 18,1950, in the vibrant city of Osaka, Japan, Sandra's journey through life was as colorful and intricate as the crafts she so adored creating. On November 17, 2025, Sandra passed away peacefully in
Odessa, Texas, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family.
Sandra's life was a tapestry woven with the treads of her passions and the love she had for her family. As a mother to three remarkable daughters, Crystal Walker, Fallon Collins, and Courtney Callendar, all of Odessa, she instilled in them the values of creativity, determination, and the importance of nurturing family bonds. Her legacy continues to bloom through her seven grandchildren- Taylor, Gavin, Brayden, Baylee, Billy, Jaxon, and Haylee- and two great-grandchildren, Wylder and Brinley, who will carry forward the memories of her boundless love and the stories of her adventures.
Sandra is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Tarr; as well as her parents Clarence Wilbur Tarr, and Edith Virginia Brooks.
Sandra's zest for life was reflected in her diverse interests. A skilled seamstress, her sewing projects were not just fabric and thread but expressions of her love and care. Crafting was another avenue where she channeled her imaginative spirit, creating beauty from the ordinary. Always one for a good bargain, Sandra found joy in shopping, turning it into treasure hunts for the perfect materials for her next project or for gifts that would light up the faces of her loved ones. She loved her cigarettes, and even just days before her passing, you could still find her enjoying one. It was simply part of who she was.
Her garden was a sanctuary where Sandra's green thumb turned seeds into blooms and nurtured life in the rich Rezas soil. In the quiet moments of relaxation, she could be found engrossed in the thrilling narratives of IDTV, solving mysteries alongside her favorite crime show detectives. The heartwarming tales on the Hallmark channel, the transformative stories of home improvement show, and the chilling tales of ghost stories also captured her attention, providing endless hours of entertainment.
Old country music had a special place in Sandra's heart, the melodies and lyrics resonating with her and often serving as the backdrop to her days, whether she was immersed in her hobbies or simply enjoying the company of her family.
As we bid farewell to Sandra, we celebrate the life she lived so fully and the countless ways she touched the hearts of those around her. Her journey on this earth may have concluded, but the impact she made will continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come. Sandra Anne Etheridge will be dearly missed, but the love she shared will never be forgotten.
