Sandra Kay “Sandy” (Fackler) Carnahan
OTTAWA – Sandra Kay “Sandy” (Fackler) Carnahan, 81, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:24 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her residence. She was born October 30, 1944, in Leipsic to the late Clarence and Blanche (Chaney) Fackler.
She was the proud mother of six children, four are surviving: Linda (Ron) Pavel of Leipsic, Bobby Carnahan of Ottawa, Karen (Sam Geckle) Carnahan-Lause of Leipsic, and James Carnahan of Findlay; eleven grandchildren: Sandra (Zachary) Miller, Eric (Michelle) Pavel, Ryan Shulaw, Joshua Shulaw, Cody Shulaw, April (Matt) Cosart, Mary (Jared) Salley, Sarah (Tye) Gietzen, Savannah Carnahan, Rebecca Carnahan and James Paul Carnahan; thirteen great-grandchildren: Calvin, Carder, Chase, Hannah, Lachlan, Liam, Benjamin, Mearic, Sierra, Caden, Madisyn, Myah and Avery; special “grandkids”: Sadie, Jase, John and Emma Buckland; a sister, Marguerite (Paul) Danser of Lima; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Doris “Day-Day” Winkle of Leipsic.
She was also preceded in death by two beloved children: Gary Eugene Sherman and Anna Mae (Edward) Shulaw; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Tousley; a sister, Melba (Jim) Hardy; and two brothers: Ervin Dean Fackler and Lee (Betty) Fackler.
Sandy retired from the Budd Company, North Baltimore and was a former manager, waitress and bartender for Don’s Bar. She was a member of Faith Assembly of Believers Church, Ottawa. Sandy loved going to the casino, playing bingo and watching her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor John Buckland officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Hospice, Findlay.
