Sandra Kay Ford

Sandra Kay (Miller) Ford was born on June 26, 1955, and went home to heaven on August 3, 2024. She was born in Lebanon, Oregon to parents George Wesley Miller and Betty Lucille (Seiber) Miller. She attended Green Acres Elementary, Lebanon Middle School, and graduated from Lebanon Union High School, class of 1973. Out of high school she began working for Jerry's Markets in Lebanon as a bakery hostess. Soon after she began dating Dennis Wayne Ford who she would marry on October 12, 1974. They would have celebrated 50 years this October 2024. In 1978, she gave birth to their first son Justin Wayne Ford and in 1981 her second son Andrew Wayne Ford. She wanted to be a full time stay at home mom, so she left her work to enjoy all that motherhood would bring. A few years later the family moved to Bend, Oregon in 1987. With her sons all grown, she went back to work. Whispering Winds Retirement Center in Bend, Oregon was just the place for her. For 14 years she diligently worked until her own retirement. Sandra was a Christian, having accepted Christ as her personal Savior and being water baptized some years later. Sandra was a great wife and mother. She was much loved and will be missed greatly. With Jesus now, she is now safe and secure. Sandra is survived by her husband Dennis Ford, sister Linda (Miller) Ford and brother Michael Miller. Sandra and Linda married brothers, Dennis and David Ford. Also, her two sons, Justin Ford and Andrew Ford with their wives Brandy and Holly. Sandra had 5 grandchildren, Claire (14), Norah (12), Grant (6), Asa (5) and Brylee (4), and Dottie, their Australian Shepard puppy. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents George and Betty Miller.
Her favorite things to do were family gathering trips to the Oregon Coast, she especially loved visiting Newport. She was filled with happiness on each of our family camping trips at East Lake. In her later years, once grandchildren had arrived, she would set up an entire picnic table with books, coloring books, games and all sorts of fun things to occupy the grandkids. She loved being a mother and a grandmother. In 2021, Dennis and Sandra started the process of building her a new home; she called it her "pretty house".
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday August 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the home of Andrew and Holly Ford, 19155 Rustic Canyon Rd., Bend, OR. We will share food, memories and stories.
