Sandra Kay Gray

Sandra Kay Gray, 63, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care. She was born April 1, 1962 in St. Joseph, daughter of Virginia and Clarence Lawrence. She attended Benton High School. On June 11, 1978, she married Charles Gray, spending 36 years together prior to his passing in 2014. She was a devoted wife, mother, and caretaker to her sister, Teresa. Sandy enjoyed playing guitar, going fishing and camping, and spending time at the casino. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Gray, infant daughter, Jamie Gray, brothers, Darrell, Clayton and Steve Mattox, and Robert Lawrence. Survivors include: children, Eric (Cindy) Gray of St. Joseph, Logan (Elizabeth) Gray of Atchison, KS, and Melody Gray of St. Joseph, step-children, Elizabeth Gray of Gallatin, MO, Charles Gray, Jr. of St. Joseph, Benny (Dollie) Gray of St. Joseph, Linda Gray of St. Joseph, sisters, Teresa Lawrence of St. Joseph, Barbara (Rick) Eslinger of St. Joseph, and Karen (Bill) Eslinger of St. Joseph, brother, Russell Mattox of Rushville, MO, grandchildren, Noah, Zoey, and Lee Gray, and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Wednesday. The Interment will follow at King Hill Cemetery. Pastor JoAnn Springs officiating.
