Sandra "Sandy" Hays, 71, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on January 11, 2026 at The Waters of Scottsburg Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1954 in Scottsburg, Indiana daughter of John and Margaret Hays. Sandy was a dedicated worker and worked for Hampton Inn in Scottsburg for many years and previously at Aisin in Seymour, In for ten plus years. Sandy loved being with her son and entertaining her friends. She loved to play Bingo, go fishing, and traveling. She was a master of Euchre and came to be known as Euchre Queen. Sandy had a personality that was loved by all those who met and knew her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially true and close to her heart, her son Geremy and granddaughter, Ennsley Hays. Sandy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Taylor (Lillie Gay) Hays of Scottsburg; parents, John Hays Jr and Margaret Sinclair.She is survived by her son, Geremy Hays(Nicole); step sons, Erin Hays(Jane), Jimmy Hays(Beth); step daughter, Kelly Mills(Ray); along with grandchildren, Ennsley Hays, Zaylee Nease, Daylon, step grandchildren, Myka, Emerald, Millie, Madeline, Christopher, Elaina, Travis, Amber and three great step grandchildren; brothers, John Hays of El Paso, TX; sisters, Alice Dever of Scottsburg, Joann Soucey and Bonnie Lange of Silver Springs, FL, Nancy Renner(Donald) of Hamilton, IN; along with many nieces and nephews.There will be a visitation held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 11-1:30pm with service to follow at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be at Zoah Christian Church Cemetery.
