She held Staff Privileges at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, Shore Medical Center, and Seashore Gardens Living Center. Moving to Dublin, GA, Dr. Hollander decided to serve a more rural community with state-of-the-art cancer care at Cancer Care of Dublin and Fairview Park Hospital. She became the President of the Laurens County Medical Society and was a voting member of the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG). Loving creating art in multiple mediums led to her offices and home being art museums. Her intense love and caring for her husband and life partner Mal was always evident. Spending time with her family and friends always brought her much joy. She had a passion for dancing starting at a young age studying at the Pennsylvania Ballet continuing into folk dancing to disco. Swimming was a daily ritual of enjoyment. While not having children of their own, Sandy and Mal had an "adopted family of JC, Mary with their kids, Eric, Eevee, Lilly and Isabella." This brought much joy to them. Sady was a caring, kind friend. i knew her at Jamesville-Dewitt High School. We lost touch soon after high school, but i thought of her often and wondered whatever happened to her. I searched for her but did not know her married name. I'm sad to learn that she has passed.

last week we lost Sandy. she loved swimming and was an accomplished painter. Sandy began her professional life as a medical researcher and evolved to an independent board certified oncologist and haemotologist. Sandra was my friend. By that, I mean , you could ask her for help and she was there. She trained me as a medical resident. We worked together later as colleagues . And when I was ill 27years ago, she covered for me without questions asked. She was a brilliant clinician and more importantly in my mind,an empathetic soul. She cared. Her legacy is her husband Mal, whom she loved, the friends who cared for her and the patients she loved in NJ and Georgia, whom she cared for with expertise and empathy. She made the world a better place and she will rest in peace ....

Sandra Hollander was a friend. By that I mean, if you needed her, she was there.she was the definition of a friend. She was an empathetic brilliant physician, and a kind woman. And her life had not been easy. I am so sad to know she was struck down by a disease that she fought so hard to eradicate. When I needed help covering patients during an illness 26 years ago, she was there...no questions asked. She was kind. She was one of the hematology oncologist´s who trained me 33 years ago, and for that and so many reasons,I will -always be in her debt. May her life and energy live on in those she loved and cared for, her patients of course, and her husband Mal, whom I know she adored.

Sandy and I have been best friends for 55 years. I have so many fond memories and photos of this wonderful woman going all the way back to Jr High, High School and beyond. We became best friends when we discovered that we shared a mutual love of science, music and art. She was extremely successful in her specialized medical field of Oncology/Hematology and has always given me a reason to be proud of her many accomplishments. She was absolutely brilliant. It was a pleasure to talk with her, too. She had a great outlook, a marvelous sense of humor, always learning and inquisitive and was always supportive. Nowhere would you find a better person to be on your side. The positive impact that Sandy made on the lives of my husband and me will be remembered and thought of often and lovingly. Her memory will always be a blessing. You were so much more than a friend...you were family to us. We are sad that you have passed but you are not far from us. To find you all we have to do is look in our hearts. Rest in Heavenly peace, Sandy. We both love you.

A life that was admirable, well lived and loved--but taken too soon. Sandy was a brilliant and compassionate physician whom I had the honor of working with and whose patients received the benefit of her dedication.
To Mal and Sandy's family: May memories of happier times bring you courage and peace during this time of mourning. For Sandy, I hope she found joy in Georgia.
My thoughts will be with all during the memorial service on Sunday.

Sandy was an exemplar as a physician and human being. While fighting her own battle with cancer, she made sure she was there to help her patients in their fight with the disease. Despite the chemo and radiation she endured, she found the strength to be in the office and provide her expertise. Sandy was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

I began my journey with you against cancer in 2017 in Dublin, GA. I chose you because of the level of compassion I received from you. I died in your arms on March 8, 2017 as a result of anaphylaxis to paclitaxel chemo. The quick action of you and your team aided in my recovery. 6 years later I am still here after my fight with lung cancer. I will forever be grateful for you. Rest peacefully with our Lord. You are now one of my guardian angels.
