Sandra Lou Hulett, a beacon of generosity and optimism, passed away at the age of 81 on December 10, 2024, of natural causes in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born on September 27, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and throughout her life, she exemplified the essence of selflessness in every action she took. Sandra was a woman of many achievements. She obtained her High School GED followed by her Cosmetology license, which allowed her to touch the lives of many with her skilled hands and warm conversation. Sandra's career included a significant period as an assembly belt line worker at General Motors, where she was not only a dedicated employee but also a friend to many. Her colleagues remember her as a person who brought light and laughter into the workplace, making the long hours on the assembly line feel shorter with her presence. Beyond her professional life, Sandra was a woman of diverse interests. She cherished her animals, providing them with love and care that reflected her nurturing spirit. Gardening was another passion of Sandra's, with her hands often found tending to the earth, nurturing plants to bloom with the same care and attention she gave to those around her. Her artistic talent shone through in her drawings, capturing the beauty of the world as she saw it. Sandra's love for getting to know people was evident in her wide circle of friends and the deep conversations she shared with them. She believed that every person had a story worth listening to, and she was always ready with an open heart and an open ear. Sandra's life was a testament to the power of positivity. She was known for her generosity, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her daughters, Robin Allen, Misty Stadwick, and Cyncie Scott, were the lights of her life, and she instilled in them the values of kindness and compassion that she lived by every day. Sandra's legacy is one of love, a love that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. As a woman who always looked on the bright side, Sandra embodied the words of the renowned poet Maya Angelou, "Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud." Indeed, Sandra was that rainbow for many, bringing color and hope to the lives of those she encountered. Sandra will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered not just for the life she led, but for the love she gave freely and the joy she brought to so many. Sandra Lou Hulett's story is one of a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished by those who were part of her journey. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit-a spirit of boundless generosity and unwavering optimism-will forever be a guiding light for us all.
